The GUI is made by GoaT_RopeR of the FoxBot team. I only explain how to use it under steam. It was made for WON. So some features are broken. But it overall works! And can make dedicated/listenservers easier to edit/launch. ====================================== How to install: Place the exe in your FoxBot folder. Then create a shortcut and launch it. Then follow the next step. The FIRST thing you will need to do is set the FoxBot registry key. 1) Of course OK to 1st box. 2) Then NO to 2nd. Browse to your Team Fortress Classic folder . Example: your@mail.com\team fortress classic\ (Substitute mail for name if thats the case) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the main window. I find it useless though. The Blue Text can be clicked and you will be taken to those sites on the web. The Red Text will install the dll provided the mod is installed. It's better to edit within the program instead though. As the GUI was released for the old WON servers. Download: members.cox.net/moe-ed/FoxBot%20GUI.rarAttachments:

Left Panel You move the sliders to what you want and then click "Save FoxBot.cfg". BUT if you do that, you will lose my updated (foxbot.cfg) file IF you downloaded it from here. So i will post them here: # New features that never were added in this config for v0.699 Final* # defensive_chatter (0 off, 1 on) controls bots announcing defense related messages. defensive_chatter 1 # offensive_chatter (0 off, 1 on) same for offensive bots. offensive_chatter 1
Right Panel This lets you hand edit All the important foxbot files And more. Screenshot: They are predifined by the program. Just use drop down click and it appears in the window above. Once you select, the "Load Selected File" will turn to "Save Selected File" OR the option to just "Close File" button is now clickable.

Here you can edit OR create new scripts. I'm not sure on how reliable this is under steam. It loads the scripts, but when i tried to edit one the other day it opened the script and nothing was in it. Today i opened and now i can edit them. Like i said previously, this was made for WON.. Ok, yup forget creating new scripts. It shows no maps to make a script for. And i have maps in my tfc folder. So note, it's bugged... If it can edit i'll leave that for you to find out.

In here you can edit any "Map Config" file you may have. To bad the GUI dosen't have a "create" button. These are all hand edited. They can contain any cvar you want specifically for that map! You can have a specific timelimit, number of bots, gravity, footsteps etc. etc. The main extension for these configs MUST be "_bot.cfg". So for example: 2fort_bot.cfg openfire_l_bot.cfg thekeep_bot.cfg --------------------------------- If you open the editor and don't see any configs, the folder exsists here: your@email.com\team fortress classic\FoxBot\tfc\configs\

NOTE: if you use listenserver for 1st time, you may get an error? It's ok. Just click the OK button and proceed to enter your stuff. Then click "Save Server Settings". It's only because steam does not provide a "listenserver.cfg". It just provides the "server.cfg" file. Once you save, it'll save a "listenserver.cfg" file with your settings. Ok, under basic here is really self explanatory. For any of the stuff with the empty boxes, you need to check the box 1st and then you'll be able to fill in the blanks. Also if you set any settings under these tabs: "Advanced, Adminmod or NeoTF", make sure you click "Save Server Settings" in "Basic" tab when done so it saves them too. I'm not sure if it just auto saves them? -------------------------------------------------------- Ok this is real important! To have the gui launch steam properly you NEED -applaunch 20 Example: That goes in the bottom box on the GUI. So anothwards here's some examples that go in that box: -dll ..\foxbot\foxbot.dll -applaunch 20 <---- This line says your just running foxbot. -dll addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll -applaunch 20 <--- Your running metamod with foxbot and whatever else. ------------------------------- Why is -dll in front of those? Answer: Thats what writes to your liblist.gam file and tells tfc what to load. ------------------------------ Before launching, also make sure you click on a map to start with.

Pretty much all self explanatory agian. The "hook.cfg" i have in "Execute File", executes my hookmod cvars. I forget how to use the "Custom Cvars" but i am sure you's can figure it out.

Here you can load/save mapcycle's. And with up/down arrows you can place your mapcycle. The maps you have are displayed on the right And when you click "Load Mapcycle", your current mapcycle will appear on the left. The square thats in the center used to show a pic of the overview of the map when clicked, but because the program was made for WON it no longer works.

Ok, this part is bugged!! Unless you have a small message you can try this. It's Best if you hand edit your message from the "Configure FoxBot" tab in the dropdown.

Your on your own here. I am not sure what was the last version of admin mod this supported. I kinda think it would still support the current, but i don't know.

The best part here is the "Info Dump". If any have problems with foxbot, you check all 4 boxes under "Info Dump" and it will dump it all to your desktop in a folder. Then all i need is the txt file, which you can upload here. The forums here now allow uploading, which i'll open.
